The popular dance star of the nineties is credited with the song Carnaval de Paris, which was so popular that it became the unofficial anthem of the 1998 World Cup in France

Paul Spencer, aka Dario G, performed last year, but a year ago he shared with the public that he was diagnosed with stage four rectal cancer. The news of the 53-year-old musician's death was announced by his family. They wrote that he hoped until the last moment, but he could not win in this fight.

Dario G was originally a two-piece formed by Paul Spencer and Scott Rosser when they studied music and met in Manchester in the 1990s. The formation later expanded into a trio.

In 1997, they had a huge hit with the song Sunchyme , which sold over 600,000 copies in the UK. However, the song Carnaval De Paris , which became the unofficial anthem of the 1998 World Cup in Paris, was really big .

The other two musicians eventually left the band and Paul Spencer continued as a soloist.  vc

Since his diagnosis last June, the musician has documented his treatment on social media and donated to charity. In his post three weeks ago, he also had a positive attitude and planned performances.
