Host nation Germany wins comfortably against Scotland in EURO 2024 opening match! Young talents such as Wirtz and Musiala shine

 

The opening match of EURO 2024 took place, with hosts Germany facing off against Scotland.

Germany started with Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala and Toni Kroos in the starting line-up, with Kai Havertz at the front, while Scotland started with Kieran Tierney, Andrew Robertson and John McGinn.

Germany took the lead in the 10th minute. Kroos fed the ball to the right, and Joshua Kimmich crossed it back to Wirtz, who took a shot with his right foot. The ball grazed the goalkeeper's hand and went into the goal, setting the tone for the opening goal from the young German prodigy. 444444

Then, in the 19th minute, Havertz got behind the defense and passed it to Musiala in the center. Scotland got a shot back in the closing stages when a cross from a set piece hit Antonio Rüdiger's head and went into the goal, earning an own goal to pull one back.

However, Germany proved the difference throughout the game, and in the dying seconds Emre Can scored the fifth goal with a controlled shot to give Germany a win in their opening match.
