Fans of George Lopez — seen here on April 11 at The Montalban Theatre in Hollywood promoting "Lopez on Lopez" — were offered refunds on their tickets after the comedian walked out on his show early at Eagle Mountain Casino on Friday.

In an effort to apologize to George Lopez fans, Eagle Mountain Casino is offering reimbursements and complimentary tickets to those who attended Friday's show, which the comedian abruptly ended 30 minutes early.

The Porterville casino responded swiftly, posting on social media Friday evening that Lopez "let down his fans" by leaving early, citing issues with hecklers.

In an official statement released on Sunday, casino management contested the claims of unruly guests, stating that footage from the casino's surveillance did not support Lopez's accusations. Both casino security and Lopez's security team had collaborated to ensure no phone recordings, as requested by Lopez.

"While we did see guests yelling out, we see recordings showing those saying things like 'We love you' and 'Can we buy you a drink,'” explained Assistant General Manager Tiffani Sahagun. "We also know that at a comedy show, there are likely some outbursts that casino security would have been happy to address if any issue had been reported. We want our guests to have a safe and enjoyable experience, and we want our entertainers to feel safe and enjoy coming to Porterville as well."

Despite the two opening acts not expressing concerns about the audience, Lopez left his own set 30 minutes early without offering an apology or explanation. He left the casino 15 minutes later and was transported to the Porterville airport by Eagle Mountain Casino staff.

In a statement to TMZ on Saturday, a spokesperson for Lopez criticized the casino for failing to provide a good experience for both the artist and fans.

"The audience was overserved and unruly, and the casino staff was unable to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for the artist and guests," the spokesperson told TMZ. The site also posted a video showing Lopez warning the audience to stop interrupting.

"George's personal security team worked with the venue security staff to maintain order and ensure safety, but the casino security team was inadequate," the spokesperson continued. "George is not obligated to perform in an unsafe environment. He feels badly that those who came to see the show were unable to do so as a result."

This incident follows the last-minute cancellation of Lopez's original show on April 20 due to a health emergency, with a new performance date set for June 7.

The casino stated, "For the second time, the comedian has caused us to accommodate guests by reimbursing show tickets and going above and beyond to ensure guests know we value their business and aim to provide a positive experience."

Ticket holders for Friday's show will receive a full reimbursement and two tickets to an upcoming show at the venue if they are Legacy Rewards Members. The membership program is free to the public.
