Media mogul Rupert Murdoch, 93, has tied the knot for the fifth time, as confirmed by his company, News Corp, on Sunday.
Murdoch and Elena Zhukova, a 67-year-old retired molecular biologist originally from Russia, were married on Saturday at his vineyard estate in Bel Air, California. News Corp released photographs of the newlyweds, who had announced their engagement in March.
Murdoch's previous marriage was to model and actor Jerry Hall. The couple married in 2016 and divorced in 2022.
Elena Zhukova was previously married to Alexander Zhukov, a billionaire energy investor and Russian politician. Their daughter, Dasha, was once married to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the former owner of the Premier League soccer club Chelsea.
Last fall, Murdoch stepped down as the head of both Fox News’ parent company and News Corp, passing the leadership to his son Lachlan. Murdoch's media empire, which spans multiple continents, has played a significant role in shaping modern American politics.
Murdoch's journey in the media industry began in 1952 when he inherited a newspaper in Australia from his father. Over the decades, he expanded his enterprise to include major U.S. and British newspapers, such as The Times of London and The Wall Street Journal.
The Fox News Channel, launched in 1996, has since become a major force in television, particularly popular among conservative audiences and politicians in the United States.
