Country legend George Strait greeted a record crowd of 110,905 fans tonight at Kyle Field in Texas A&M, College Station, saying, “What’s going on everybody? We got some Aggies out there? Oh yeah! I’m ashamed to say this, but this is my first time to ever be in Kyle Field… damn! Just invite me back, I’ll come!”
Moments earlier, the Texas native set a new all-time attendance record for a ticketed concert in the United States, surpassing The Grateful Dead's previous record of 107,019 fans at Raceway Park in New Jersey in 1977. This also set a new record for Texas A&M's Kyle Field for a single event, surpassing the previous mark set during a Texas A&M game against Ole Miss in 2014.
George Strait has achieved numerous milestones in his career, including the most No. 1 singles across any genre, charting a Top 10 hit every year for 30 years, and holding records for the most No. 1 albums, gold albums, and platinum albums in country music history. His upcoming album, Cowboys And Dreamers, his 31st with MCA Nashville, features two new songs, "MIA in MIA" and "The Little Things," and is set for release on September 6th.
