A Southwest Airlines flight bound for Phoenix made an emergency landing in Denver on Monday night after encountering an issue shortly after takeoff.
Flight 225 departed Denver for Phoenix around 6 p.m. when a tire failure during takeoff prompted the pilot to declare an emergency. Less than an hour later, the plane safely returned to Denver without incident, and no injuries were reported. A Southwest spokesperson confirmed that the aircraft was taxied off the runway and a different plane was used to complete the journey to Phoenix.
"We thank our flight crew for their professionalism and our customers for their patience," the spokesperson said.
