The famous Egyptian media personality, Lamis Al-Hadidi, revealed that she had previously been diagnosed with cancer.
Al-Hadidi was a guest on the “From Us and Us” program on the “Al-Mashhad” channel platform. She said that she was injured 10 years ago and hid the matter from her family at first, especially her eldest son, as well as from her fans. She said: “This is a pain that concerns me, and I fear that people will say that I am a merchant in need.”
Al-Hadidi answered the questions of the program presenter, Heba Haidari, about her illness and said that she hid the matter from her son until he grew up, and added that when she learned that she was sick, “she lived a nightmare and wished it would go away.”
She continued that she was grateful for the recovery and the presence of her two sons, her media husband, Amr Adeeb, and her mother in her life during that period, and she said: “Also my friends, my family, and some of those close to me.”
Al-Hadidi cried as she talked about her experience ten years ago, how her friends used to come to chemotherapy sessions in order to “have a party” to entertain her. This surprised the doctors.
During her speech, Al-Hadidi did not reveal the type of cancer she had, but she advised women to undergo regular examinations and that her infection was discovered when she had a regular periodic examination.
Lamis Al-Hadidi is a famous Egyptian journalist. She presented many programs on several Egyptian and Arab channels. She currently presents the “Cairo Now” program on the “Al-Hadath” channel. She is married to the journalist Amr Adeeb, and they have two sons.
