The Northern District Water Resources Branch of the Water Resources Department today implemented the ninth ground artificial rainfall increase this year in the Shih Mun Reservoir catchment area. The cumulative rainfall increased by about 3 millimeters. It is estimated that the reservoir will increase 360,000 tons of water. The Water Resources Department and the Agriculture and Water Resources Department have decided to increase the rainfall in June. The agricultural water supply in the Bamboo Irrigation District is 37 million tons. The Taoyuan and Shimen Management Offices expressed the hope that the Water Resources Department will cooperate with the irrigation districts to stabilize the water supply.

The Department of Water Resources has promised that Taoyuan and Shimen Management Offices will supply 37 million tons of water to the Taozhu Farmland Irrigation Area during the earing period in June, which is equivalent to a daily average of 1.2 million tons of water. The Taoyuan and Shimen Management Offices stated that a large amount of water is needed during the heading period, and it is hoped that the Shimen Reservoir will cooperate with the irrigation area to stabilize the water supply under the total agricultural water supply control in June to facilitate the growth of rice.
The Beishui District Administration said that according to meteorological data, rainfall may still occur from recent days to early June. Through water-saving operations and strengthened water diversion measures, the reservoir has maintained stable water supply. In order to achieve the rice irrigation supply target for the first phase of this year, priority is given to the use of rivers and ponds.
