Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) - The Iraqi Kurdish singer, Barwas Hussein, announced that she had been diagnosed with bowel cancer, which was a shock to fans of the star of the second season of the “Arab Idol” program .
Broas’ announcement came in a blog post that she published on the “X” platform, on Wednesday, in which she said: “I am always satisfied with the destiny and destiny that God has written for us. Yes, I am fighting the malignant disease (bowel cancer), currently in the treatment stage. Praise be to God and thanks for everything.” She asked her fans to pray for her recovery.
Barwas Hussein drew attention to her talent, during her participation in the second season of the “Arab Idol” program in 2013. She was one of the most prominent participating voices, and was distinguished by her performance of difficult Arabic songs, including “Kawkab Al-Sharq” by Umm Kulthum, with great feeling, despite her lack of proficiency in speaking Arabic. This is in addition to her performance of Kurdish songs, in which she expressed her mother culture.
