Manchester City Crowned 2023/24 Premier League Champions
Manchester City have made history by becoming the first men’s team in English football to win four consecutive top-flight titles.
Four in a Row: City Clinch 2023/24 Premier League Title
City secured their latest triumph with a 3-1 victory over West Ham United on the final day, courtesy of goals from Phil Foden (2) and Rodrigo. This win put City two points ahead of second-placed Arsenal. Captain Kyle Walker will lift the trophy at the Etihad in front of a sell-out crowd, with club legend Paul Dickov and City in the Community participant Michael Crowther handing the trophy to the England full-back.
This marks City’s tenth top-flight league title and the sixth Premier League win in seven seasons under Pep Guardiola, who has been at the helm since 2016.
A Season of Triumphs
The 2023/24 Premier League title is City’s third trophy of the season, following victories in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. The team now has the chance to make further history by becoming the first English side to win back-to-back Premier League and FA Cup doubles when they face Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 25.
Walker’s Pride
Captain Kyle Walker expressed his pride in the team's achievement. “The last few years have been very special for everyone at Manchester City, but to have captained this club to a fourth straight Premier League title is something I will cherish forever,” he said.
Season Highlights
In their 38 league matches, City won 28 and scored 95 goals, amassing 91 points and remaining unbeaten at home throughout the campaign. Their last Premier League defeat at the Etihad Stadium was in November 2022 against Brentford.
City’s points total of 91 means they have now finished with 90+ points on four occasions, more than any other side in the Premier League era.
Historic Achievements
Last season, City became only the fifth club in English football history to win three consecutive top-flight titles. With this season’s success, they are now the only men’s team to achieve four successive English league titles, adding another significant milestone to Guardiola’s illustrious tenure.
Guardiola’s Silverware
Pep Guardiola has now won 17 pieces of silverware since joining City. This includes six Premier League titles, one Champions League, two FA Cups, four League Cups, one UEFA Super Cup, one FIFA Club World Cup, and two Community Shields.
Individual Accolades
Erling Haaland finished the season with 27 Premier League goals, securing the Premier League Golden Boot for the second consecutive season. Phil Foden was named Premier League Player of the Season and Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year, reflecting his finest year as a professional. Spanish midfielder Rodrigo also reached a milestone by making it 50 Premier League games unbeaten against West Ham.
Collective Effort
City’s title defense was a collective effort, with key contributions from all squad members throughout the season. The club extends congratulations to Pep Guardiola, his backroom staff, and all the players on yet another remarkable achievement.
