Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi passed away

Iranian President Ibrahim Reisi and Foreign Minister Hussein Emir Abdullahiyan lost their lives as a result of their helicopter crash. "The president, the foreign minister and other passengers on the helicopter lost their lives," a senior Iranian official told Reuters. Iran's Mehr news agency also confirmed the deaths, writing that "they were martyrs." 5 days of mourning were declared in Iran after the accident. 


The helicopter carrying Iranian President Ibrahim Reisi and his accompanying delegation had an accident. As a result of hours of search and rescue efforts, the area where the helicopter crashed was reached. In the statement made in the early hours of the day, it was stated that "there were no signs of life" in the region. An Iranian official, who later spoke to Reuters and did not give his name for security reasons, announced that Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Emir Abdullahiyan and other passengers lost their lives in the accident.


In the morning, Iranian state television announced that the crash site of the helicopter carrying Reisi had been identified and that there were no signs of life in the area. Hossein Kolivand, President of the Iranian Red Crescent, said, "After the location of the accident was determined, no signs of life were found among the passengers on the helicopter.
