Organized crime ringleader Barış Boyun, who was wanted with a red notice, was caught in an operation carried out by a team of Italian and Turkish police in Viterbo, Italy
In his statement on his social media account, Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya announced that organized crime ringleader Barış Boyun was caught in Italy.
Minister Yerlikaya noted the following;
Against the organized crime group led by Barış Boyun, which is wanted with a Red Notice by the judicial authorities of our country in Italy; As a result of the joint efforts of our KOM Presidency, our Interpol-Europol Department and the Italian Security Authorities, an operation was carried out by the Italian police in Rome and Milan. During the operation, a total of 19 suspects, 17 Turkish and 2 Italian members of the organized crime group, including the ringleader Barış Boyun, were caught.
I want our dear nation to know that we are determined to destroy organized crime organizations and bring them to justice, no matter what size they are or which country they have fled to. We will take their breath away.
He is wanted by the judicial authorities of our country for 23 separate crimes, including Establishing an Organization to Commit a Crime and Intentional Murder, and has a total of 56 separate criminal records, 3 of which are murders; Intentional Injury, Opposition to Law No. 6136, Looting, etc. against the organized crime group led by Barış Boyun, who is wanted with a red notice for his crimes; Within the scope of the work carried out jointly by the Italian Police and KOM Directorate, Interpol Europol Department, Istanbul Police Department, Tekirdağ Police Department, Sakarya Police Department; An operation was carried out by Italian police in Rome and Milan. During the operation, 19 suspects who were members of the organized crime group, including the ringleader Barış Boyun, were caught.
To date, 317 people have been caught in 26 separate operations carried out against the Fugitive Barış Boyun Organized Crime Organization in Istanbul, Izmir, Tekirdağ, Sakarya, and Kütahya. Of these;
175 of them were arrested and a judicial control order was issued for 100 of them.
